KK says… 8/10:
No big surprises or any new unique features here, but this
slot does have the same great graphics we’ve come to expect from Rival
slots, and the theme is very well thought out as it progresses through the various
“levels”, making it very playable.
The stacked wilds are only 2-up, which surprised me at first,
but they do appear quite frequently giving lots of chances of better wins.
Like many Rival slots, the pay-offs in normal spins are
rather poor, especially for the lesser symbols, as most of the winning come
from getting the Bonus Round. Hit a few close together and you’ll be
flying!
I rate this slot as Low Variance: A lot of fun and chance of
reasonable profit, but you’re unlikely to hit any mega-wins IMHO.

Once again Net Entertainment have totally blown me away with
another new concept!
I have so much to say about this slot… but I will TRY to keep
it as brief as possible:
First, the
“Shifting Reels”: This is the first time I’ve ever seen this concept – and I
like it! It operates as described above and can give multiple re-spins. I
have reached the win x 5 maximum on many occasions and hit some bet x70 to 80
wins during normal play.
Winning the
Free-Spins: These are also won in rather a unique way; Beneath each reel
is a treasure chest, and on each reel is a money-bag. When a money bag
appears anywhere in view, Robin Hood grabs it and drops it into the chest
below. As soon as a chest contains 4 Money-Bags you are awarded 10 free
spins. The designers have been very clever here, because the line value of
your free-spins is the average of your bet when the 4 bags were hit. In
other words, you can’t benefit by playing at low stakes to get the first 3
bags and then betting BIG for high-value free-spins. Another clever thing
about this is that you will almost always have some bags left on some reels
when you finish, which will tempt you to keep coming back!
During the
Free-Spins: First Friar Tuck spins the bonus wheel to select which of
the big-pay symbols will become your additional wilds. Then your 10 spins
start with the same multiplier as the normal spins. The free-spin reels are different to the
regular play ones, in that there are a lot more 10, J, Q, K & A symbols
than the normal reels. You might think this sounds bad, but with the extra
wilds thrown into the mix, it means re-spins happen much more frequently,
the x5 level is reached more often, and therefore big wins are a distinct
possibility.
During free-spins there are also additional scatter symbols
added which increase the number of free-spins for hitting 2 or more.
Conclusion: At the end of the
day, this slot makes 4-5% house edge for the casino, just like any other
slot, but the playability of this one is just awesome in my honest opinion!
It’s fun, it’s entertaining and the possibility of big wins is definitely
there.
Needless to say the graphics and sounds are totally superb as
with all recent new NetEnt slots.

you just don’t know what will happen next! The wilds “spread” in any
direction – including on to reels 1 & 5 where wilds don’t normally
appear. Getting 2 or more at once virtually guarantees a good payout. (See

new concept which I have never seen on any other slot before; a “stepped

imagination of the designers which give the real buzz.

I have to say, they really excelled themselves with graphics

Just when I thought I had seen every slot concept possible,
NetEnt come up with this one AND the great Crocodopolis (above)!
The first thing you will notice is that each symbol position
is an individual spinning reel of its own; nothing new about that, Playtech
& WagerWorks have had these for years. But what makes this slot unique
is that ANY win you get is held in position while all the remaining reels
spin again, giving you increasing chances of hitting more and bigger wins!
The only downside to this, is to meet the slot’s payback
level, most of the small 3 of a kind wins are very small individually, but
you have to remember that the “Sticky Wins” feature does give good
potential for some pretty big hits. You can’t have everything!
I also found the free-spins extremely hard to hit – over 800
spins before my first lot!

Well this one is certainly way better and more playable than
Rival’s last release (Bowled Over);
It’s a bit more “old school” having the features many of the earlier
Rival slots had; Free-spins @ x3 and a simple picking bonus.
The features also hit quite frequently; I played 400 spins
and got free-spins 4 times (twice it was 20 spins + another 10 spins due to
a re-trigger) these returned bet x 5, 20, 30 and 44 – which was lower than
I would have expected. I also got the pick bonus 3 times, winning bet x 15,
19 & 20.
The expanding wilds give extra big-hit chances, but overall I
rate this slot as low variance.

I think I’m right in saying that this is the very first 3125
ways pay slot on the net!
Fortunately, like other all ways pay slots, you don’t have to bet on
each win-line, but a fixed amount per spin. In this case each spin is any
multiple of 50 coins.
Before I played I was expecting it to be pretty high variance
like MG’s first 5x5 slot Cashapillar, but I found that because the stacked
wilds are only on 2 reels this allows for more frequent wins and therefore
a low/medium variance game.
I also found the free-spins quite easy to hit; for me it was
in the 80-100 range. First time I was surprised to see the free-spin reels
are completely different to normal spins; instead of the stacked wilds on
reels 2 & 4, there are single wilds on all reels and all the high-pay
symbols are stacked on all reels instead… Fill the screen with one of these
symbols and you’d be in for a mega-win!
All in all a very nice slot which I’m sure to come back to

Well this one’s definitely NOT for the faint-hearted… high

but on my first play it went well over 500

This slot sounds totally superb and I couldn’t wait to play
it! But on my first session I had a complete
nightmare; I did 203 real-money spins before getting my first feature; this
was 8 free-spins and only returned bet x 32. It got slightly better after
that; I had quite a few “Rabbit Hole” bonuses, free-spins and got the Tea
Party feature once.
The latter returned bet x52 and if definitely the one you
want to hit. However, what the paytable doesn’t make totally clear is that
the scatters for the two main features only appear on 3 of the 5 reels and
you need all three for the bonus round. This means they’re hard to hit.
These are my total stats for all my play on it so far:

I was bitterly disappointed with this new NetEnt offering –
it sounds so great in theory, but was a damp squib in reality.
The slot looks and sounds totally superb with crisp, smooth
graphics as one would expect from this great flash software. It has two bonus features; Free-spins
with potentially increasing multipliers and a picking sequence. It also
boasts expanding wilds on reels 2, 3 and 4.
But I found the features EXTREMELY hard to hit; In about 600
spins I only got the pick feature twice (paid bet x 5 & x13), and the
free-spins 4 times. Each time I got 10 – 12 free spins starting from x1 or
x2, and even though I got up to bet x7 once, the pay-back was pathetic
every time.
Medium sized wins were fairly common in normal spins due to
the expanding wilds, so this is probably a low variance slot.
But for me, if the features don’t have the potential for BIG payouts
(e.g. bet x50 or more) then time between getting them was just too long.
Maybe I was just unlucky…?

I’m not a huge fan of RTG slots to be honest, but this one
ticks all the right boxes!
I particularly like the “wild goblins” symbol (seen above)
which only appears on reel one; this symbol changes randomly to show from 1
to 5 Goblins, and the number of Goblins appearing is what determines your win
multiplier. Even better, this also determines the multiplier of ALL your
wins during your 15 free-spins; so if you start with a x5 and hit it again
during free-spins, your win will be multiplied by x25!
The wild symbol hits quite frequently on reel one as I think
there are at least 2 on that reel.
The treasure chest on reel 5 (which you also need to trigger
the free-spins) is much rarer and the reel strip seems much longer; this
makes the chance of getting the feature quite low.
It’s probably in the once in 140 to 160 spins range.
Finally, the Win-Win feature is a stroke of genius! Never
again do you have to suffer the heart-ache of wining zilch from the
feature; In the extremely unlikely event that you hit nothing in your 15
spins, you are compensated with a bet x 1000 reward! There are also smaller

I don’t LIKE to criticize new games, but I have to say this
is very “old school” and un-inspired.
The graphics are very basic looking and the spins rather
“jerky” by modern standards.
Players may be attracted by the possibility of getting 50
spins with up to x50 multiplier, but realistically you need at least TWO
re-triggers and for each to award a big number of spins. Not terribly
likely, is it?
It took me about 300 spins to get the free-spins for the
first time, but then I got them 3 times in about 20 spins! It gave me from
7 to 9 spins and the returns were very poor; it’s no use having a x9 multiplier
on the last spin if you don’t hit anything.
If you got very lucky with re-triggers AND hit a big win late
on in your free-spins then you could potentially get a mega-win, so I rate
this slot as high variance.

To put it simply – this slot is just breathtaking!
Although not the first online slot to use actual movie
footage in the game (a special mention for PlayTech’s “Gladiator”), this is
surely the best one so far.
When I first played it I was initially a bit disappointed to
find it only has 1 feature; 15 free-spins @ x1. But on each spin you also get one of the
5 reels randomly changing to totally wild; line that up with some of the
stacked wilds on the other reels and you could be getting a Mega-Win!
Unusual for an online slot, this one has stacked AND
expanding wilds on reel 3 – this effectively means you have a total of
EIGHT wilds on that reel; a group of 3 and a group of 5.
Though you will get a lot of small wins which don’t even
return the cost of your spin, it’s worth playing for the chance of the big
wins which come with all those stacked wilds.
Free-spins seem not too hard to hit; I’d guess in the 140-160
range. Variance seems to be medium.
